Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, and Prof. Muhammad Zaki El Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, on Thursday corresponding to 13/10/2022 the activities of the scientific conference were launched at Tulip Aswan Hotel about:
“The Importance of Diabetic Foot Care”
Which is sponsored by the Egyptian Society of Diabetic Foot in cooperation with the Department of General Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, and Aswan Doctors Syndicate, in coordination with Prof. Loay Saad El-Din, Vice President of Aswan University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mansour Kabash, President of Aswan Physicians Syndicate and former President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Hussein Yunis, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research, were honored to attend Prof. Ashraf Shoma – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Hanan Gawish – President of the Conference and President of the Egyptian Association of Diabetic Foot, Prof. Mamdouh El-Nahhas – Honorary President of the Egyptian Association of Diabetic Foot, and members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Association of Diabetic Foot and the Organizing Committee, and an elite group of academic staff and their assistants in the two universities and doctors from the Ministry of Health in Aswan.
“Gawish”, President of the Conference and Egyptian Diabetic Foot Association, started the conference by welcoming the attendees and thanking them for hosting the conference in Aswan Governorate, adding a speech about the importance of caring for diabetics’ feet and how to avoid infection, as well as the complications that accompany the diabetic patients, in addition to methods of prevention and treatment.
”Loay”, Vice President of Aswan University, praised the necessity of holding such conferences to exchange experiences and information between Egyptian universities.
”Kabash”, the head of Aswan Doctors Syndicate and the former president of Aswan University, pointed to the importance of communicating with ancient places such as the Egyptian Diabetic Foot Association and Mansoura University, in order to share the latest treatment methods to achieve the maximum benefit for the benefit of the patient within the Aswan Governorate.
”Yunis”, the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained that the conference presented everything new about the importance of diabetic foot care by a group of the most prominent professors in this field with the aim of spreading a culture of awareness for prevention, treatment and preservation of diabetic foot by providing an integrated service to the patient to preserve it.
”Al-Obaidi”, Head of the Internal Medicine Department of Aswan Medicine, extended his thanks and appreciation to the attendees and the team of the Egyptian Diabetic Foot Association, who did not hesitate to accept the invitation to present their distinguished experiences in the field of the diabetic foot and to carry out their responsibilities and lofty message in providing information, training, and advice which benefit the patients of diabetes at Aswan Governorate and relieve them from the trouble of moving to other governorates to receive treatment.
This made it clear in the recommendations of the conference; the department is in the process of establishing a unit for the diabetic foot at the AswanUniversity Hospital, in coordination between the Department of General Internal Medicine and the Departments of General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Orthopedics, provided that the unit includes all possibilities to give the medical service in the best image for the patient, as workshops will be held to train doctors before opening the branch.
On the sidelines of the conference; H.E. presented a shield to the university’s senior management in appreciation of their support for the college in general and the department in particular, and she also encouraged the deputies’ doctors in the department and their appreciation for their efforts and dedication to work, especially during the Corona pandemic, wishing our beloved Egypt goodness and peace and the rest of the countries of the world.
