Conclusion of Medical Convoy Events in the State of Zanzibar from September 13 to September 19 at Lumumba Hospital

On Friday, September 19, 2025, the medical convoy to Zanzibar, Tanzania, came to an end at Lumumba Hospital. Participating in the convoy was Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, who is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Urology and Urinary Stricture. He has already taken part in medical convoys to Tanzania, a sister country, six times.

His Excellency confirmed in his statement that during the convoy, which ran from September 13 to September 19, 2025, he performed medical examinations on (35) children with various urinary tract deformities, as well as (44) advanced surgical operations to repair these deformities over the course of six days of intensive work.

His Excellency further stated that five doctors from Tanzania, two from China, and four from European countries were educated to perform various urinary tract deformity surgeries via these advanced operations.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the anesthetic and nursing support teams, as well as the administration of Lumumba Hospital, for their tremendous support and warm welcome. He emphasized the value of collaboration, teamwork, and the sharing of knowledge for the sake of children’s health.
