Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty, the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine organized the first training course and workshop on interventional catheterization surgery for peripheral arterial and venous diseases, on Saturday and Sunday, November 2-3, 2019.
The workshop was held under the supervision of Prof. Emad El-Din Hussein, Professor of Vascular Surgery, Founder and Scientific Supervisor of the Department, and the course coordinator, Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Head of the Department, with the participation of Italian expert Prof. Secare Soluzzo, Professor of Interventional Radiology at the University of Pavia in Italy.
The course was attended by eighteen young vascular surgeons from Upper Egypt governorates (Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan), as well as Prof. Mansour Kabbash, Professor of General Surgery, Prof. Abdullah Mahmoud Al-Obaidi, Director General of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Mustafa Adam Al-Tayri, Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at the Faculty of Medicine and Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
This event marks the first step in the department’s academic collaboration with one of the largest European university centers specializing in this field. At the conclusion of the course, Dean Dahshoury honored the Italian expert by presenting him with the college’s shield.
