8th Week of Presidential Initiative Sports is National Security Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab witnessed the launch of the 8^th week of the presidential initiative” Sport is a National Security”. The initiative was launched first at the beginning of this academic year 17^th Oct. 2020 under the patronage of the Supreme Council of Universities. It was organized in Aswan Stadium by the faculty of physical education in cooperation with the general administration of youth welfare under the patronage of the minister of higher education and scientific research Dr. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar and the supervision of the deputy chairman and the secretary of Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities Dr. Sobhy Mohamed Hassanen and Dr. Hesham Al Geyoushy respectively. Prof. Ghallab added that the event includes several sports games and student activities simultaneously with celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with the participation of the schools of the disabled which are affiliated to the education and youth and sport directorates. Aswan University seeks to make sport available to all through its playgrounds and sports facilities to be a foundation of Aswan sports infrastructure as well as the University’s Stadium which will witness some of the Egyptian premier league matches in light of Aswan club existence in the premier league. In a related context, the dean of the faculty of physical education Dr. Adel Meky said that the event will be held every Sunday and Tuesday on the university’s playgrounds.
