Mission
Urology and Nephrology department, faculty of medicine is committed to preparing qualified physicians for basic health care who are capable of meeting the different health needs for society and implementing the national policy of health reform through introducing distinct programs in medical education for both undergraduate and graduate stages according to modern quality criteria as well as doing specialized scientific research in different medical fields through:
- Active engagement in educating the students among the developed curriculum.
- Direct supervision on graduate studies’ programs.
- Distinguished scientific research in the specialized fields and publishing in prestigious scientific journals.
- Direct care in cooperation with the faculty’s other departments.
- Offering consultation and experience to physicians in public and private hospitals.
Goals
- Urology department aims at preparing a physician with a huge amount of medical information that helps him/her to know the clinical signs of the different urology diseases and reaching to the diagnostic means of each disease.
- It seeks to achieve active interaction between the physician and the patient through ensuring the complete respect to each patient regardless his/her social status, culture and religion taking into account to give each patient the adequate time to express his symptoms.
- It also aims to teach the principles of professional interaction between each doctor and his colleagues in different specialties by respecting everyone who works in the field of medical service, whatever his/her position.
- It strives to deepen the ethics of that profession and assure that the patient is a person who suffers from a disease and has his privacy that must be respected and deals firmly with any behavior that does not abide by the ethics of that profession.
- The department always aims to develop and update methods of treating diseases of the urinary system for adults and children and keep pace with every conversation in the field of urology, and several units have been created within the department.
