The closing ceremony of the medical convoy for the free treatment of “cleft lip”’ was held on Thursday corresponding to 27th Feb. 2020. It was organized by the Department of Plastic Surgery, Aswan university faculty of medicine, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Ghalab, Aswan University president, Prof. Abdullah Al-Obaidi – executive manager of Aswan university hospitals, and Prof. Ahmed Qenawy – chairman of the plastic surgery department. The hospital received cleft lip cases and performed plastic surgeries from Friday, February 21, 2020, till Thursday, February 27. The convoy targeted the poor who can’t afford treatment expenses. It provided treatment in cooperation with the free international medical convoy, which included an international medical team specialized in the treatment of cleft lip. The ceremony witnessed a speech delivered by the Aswan university president in which he thanked the medical team for the distinguished effort exerted in treating the suffering patients; he also thanked the hospital management for the event’s success. In the end, the university president, the hospital’s manager, and the chairman of the plastic surgery department distributed symbolic prizes to the team for their efforts in providing medical service in a distinguished manner.
