Aswan Medicine Signs a Cooperation Protocol with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development

Within the framework of Aswan University’s regional and international role toward the external community in the African continent, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of the University, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi – President of the Republic, to extend the roots of fruitful and constructive cooperation between Aswan University and African universities, especially after the decision of the President of the Republic to make Aswan Governorate the capital of culture, economy and Arab and African youth for the brown continent of Africa.

And accordingly; the Faculty of Medicine – Aswan, headed by Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty, signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, in the presence of Ambassador / Mohamed Khalil – Secretary-General of the Agency, and Minister Plenipotentiary / Karim Amin – Deputy Secretary-General of the Agency and Coordinator General of the International Medical Convoys in the Egyptian Agency.

The signing of this protocol comes with the aim of coordinating a number of medical convoys from the Faculty of Medicine – Aswan to the African continent, and this role comes out of the political leadership’s interest in the African continent to raise the efficiency of medical service for patients in the countries of the African continent and to attract young doctors for training at the Faculty of Medicine-Aswan.

Where the Faculty of Medicine – Aswan launched three international medical convoys to the countries of the brown continent in various medical specialties, such as medical checking examinations, performing surgeries and providing treatment for free, and waiting for more convoys; the convoys set out from the Faculty of Medicine to the following countries:

Djibouti, from 23 to 29 March 2019.
Tanzania in the period 22-30 July 2021.
Tanzania in the period 7: 20 May 2022.
