
Prof /Ayman Othman – Acting President of Aswan University announced that Aswan University ranked 95th in the world and first among Egyptian universities according to the British Times Ranking for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Othman congratulated Academic Staff and Employees for achieving this Ranking, stressing continuing development works at the university at all levels to achieve advanced positions among universities.
His Excellency declares that Aswan University, with all its potentials, capabilities, scientific facilities, laboratories, serves sustainable development goals and working on opening investment in Aswan Governorate.
“Othman” added that his first task in the presidency of the university began with reviewing and evaluating the vision and the strategic plan of university so that the university would be a beacon for development and an icon for employing youth and linking them to labor market and directing their employment opportunities even before their graduation. The university, in his view, is a container for development and not just halls and sections.
He added that the university is centre of expertise whereas there is close cooperation with the great efforts made by Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan, for promoting production and development through stimulating investment processes in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, tourism and health,
His Excellency announced that the university represents the house of expertise so that there is close cooperation from integration with the great efforts made by Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan, in moving the wheel of production and development through stimulating investment processes in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, tourism and health, and he added that this is his first message and all of us are with you and all our facilities are at your service, and the time has come for us to integrate together to serve our beloved Aswan.
A specialized work team is now compiling feasibility studies for sectors that represent a priority for development in the governorate, which will be provided for commercial use free of charge to the governor, and working groups are being prepared to develop plans to support the governorate in establishing investment cities for granite, dates, phosphates, and other for fish, and the next period will witness university’s involvement in Serving all the areas and villages of Aswan Governorate in an unprecedented way, and my new slogan is “The University is a beacon for development.”
