Live Broadcast of An Advanced Surgical Workshop About Complex Pediatric Surgeries

Continuing the efforts of Aswan University Hospitals to advance the educational system and enhance the competencies of medical staff, a specialized workshop on pediatric hypospadias surgery was held on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The workshop was distinguished by the application of the latest surgical techniques and the delivery of a live, interactive learning experience.

This initiative was organized under the auspices of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat, President of Aswan University; Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals; Prof. Amr Alam, Director of the Surgery Hospital; and Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat, Head of the General Surgery Department.

The workshop was conducted under the supervision and with the support of a group of distinguished academic experts, including:
Prof. Mansour Kabash, Scientific Supervisor of the Department of Surgery and former President of Aswan University.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Qader, Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, who participated as a visiting expert, sharing his extensive expertise in this highly specialized field.

The workshop featured a live surgical demonstration and an interactive learning experience, utilizing real-time live streaming from the operating room to the training halls. This enabled participating physicians to follow each step of the procedure in real time and engage directly with the expert through questions and discussions, offering a comprehensive and immersive educational experience.

The workshop was attended by a distinguished group of surgeons from Aswan University, including: Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat, Head of the General Surgery Department; Dr. Mohamed Nader, Lecturer of Pediatric Surgery; Dr. Mohi El-Din Mostafa, Lecturer of Surgery; Dr. Mohamed Kandil, Lecturer of Surgery; and Dr. Mohamed El-Nouby, Pediatric Surgeon.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Saeed, the department’s administrative supervisor, whose crucial role in coordinating anesthesia procedures ensures patient safety and contributes to the success of surgical interventions.

This workshop is part of a series of educational initiatives launched by Aswan University Hospitals, aimed at enhancing physicians’ skills, keeping them up to date with the latest advancements in medical science, and ensuring the delivery of advanced, safe, and high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Aswan Governorate and neighboring regions.
