
Today, Thursday, Prof. Ahmad Ghalab President of Aswan University visited the end of the book fair activities in university by the attendance of Dr. Ayman Othman Vice-President of Aswan University for High studies and researches and Nagwa Ahmad Saied –General Manger of the Aswan Branch of Culture, located in the Faculty of Agriculture, University Campus in Sahary.
Prof. Ahmed Ghalab added that on its last day, the fair witnessed an unexpected turnout of students from various colleges, faculty members, their assistants, and university workers, and a great turnout from the outside public to acquire books in various sciences, as this year’s book fair is characterized by the diversity of publishing houses that reach 20 publishing houses and included an exhibition The book has 150 titles between literary, cultural, medical and in various cultural sciences, arts and literature.
Prof. Ahmed Ghalab explained that the book prices were affordable and suitable for different age groups.
It is worth noting that the inauguration of the exhibition’s activities was witnessed by Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture and Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University, and Dr. Ahmed Awad, President of the General Authority for Cultural Palaces. Its activities were launched from December 24 to December 31, 2020, which included more than three thousand books in various sciences.
Dr. Ayman Othman pointed to the importance of holding a book fair at Aswan University, which represents a beacon of culture and a supporter of sustainable development, in light of the declaration of Aswan Governorate as the capital of African and Arab culture, economy and youth, and it is considered a good opportunity to acquire books and read and provide the difficulty of searching for books and bearing the suffering of travel.
