The Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University celebrated today, Monday, February 17, 2025, at the University Theater in New Aswan, the graduation of the tenth batch of its students, under the patronage of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat – Acting President of Aswan University. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Major General Maher Hashem – Secretary General on behalf of Major General Ismail Kamal – Governor of Aswan, in addition to the college’s deputies and a group of faculty members. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Hussein Younis – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Maabad – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Mustafa Adam El-Tayri – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat – Representative of the Doctors Syndicate, in addition to the parents and families of the graduates.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty, Al-Dahshouri, emphasized the significance of this yearly ceremony, which marks the completion of the faculty’s efforts to graduate a new batch of exceptional doctors. He explained that this is the tenth batch of graduates from the Faculty of Medicine, with 103 graduates who will help to strengthen and develop the health system at Aswan University Hospitals, emphasizing the importance of young doctors in improving the quality of health care at Aswan University Hospitals.
On behalf of the Governor, Hashem, the Secretary General, conveyed His Excellency’s congratulations to the graduates of the Faculty of Medicine on the occasion of their graduation, stressing the importance of holding such annual celebrations that bring joy to the souls of the graduates and their families, pointing out that they come within the framework of returning the favor to the families that supported their children throughout their years of study at the faculty of medicine.
Younis, the college’s vice dean for education and student affairs, explained that the college has graduated ten batches of distinguished doctors in recent years, and that the college has 32 academic and clinical departments that help train and qualify young doctors while also providing them with a distinguished educational environment.
It is worth noting that Al-Tayri, the faculty’s vice dean for postgraduate studies and research, emphasized the Faculty of Medicine’s significant role in improving the level of medical education and scientific research, citing ongoing efforts to advance the health system in university hospitals and governorate hospitals.
Al-Zayat, a representative of the Doctors Syndicate, also administered the medical profession promise to the graduates, committing to upholding medical ethics and emphasizing that medicine is a noble message that seeks to help patients in a variety of medical disciplines.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then the speeches delivered by the honorable platform.
The event closed with the graduates being honored in an atmosphere of pleasure and gladness, with the graduates’ families joining in to show their delight and gratitude for this tremendous achievement. At the conclusion of the ceremony, congratulations were exchanged with the graduates, and certificates and appreciation awards were delivered to them, indicating that this day marked a fresh beginning for them in their professional careers of serving the community and promoting the medical field.
