Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al Dahshouri-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof.Mohamed Salah Al-Din Fahmy-Executive Manager of Aswan University Hospital, and under the supervision of Dr. Louay Ajlan-head of the department, the Department of Physical medicine, Rheumatism and Rehabilitation, on morning of Tuesday corresponding to January, 21, 2025, the workshop was held under the title of ”Ultrasound and Joint Injection” at Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Clinic from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, the workshop included the following measures:
-Ultrasound on hand joints and wrist joint for a case suffering from arthritis.
-An ultrasound was performed on the right joints to check for hand nerve entrapment followed by hydrodessectio.
-A rheumatic patient with median nerve entrapment underwent an ultrasound of the wrist, followed by a hydrodessectomy.
-Shoulder joint injection for a patient suffering from shoulder stiffness.
”Ajlan,” the department’s head, stated that the academic staff of the department will hold the workshop periodically in order to serve patients and advance the department by transferring information from professors to young doctors through practical applications on cases, wishing healing for all patients.
