The Department of Physical Medicine, Rheumatology, and Rehabilitation started a series of workshops on ultrasound and  joint injections

The Department of Physical Medicine, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation at Aswan Faculty of Medicine held a workshop this morning, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Clinic at the University Hospital entitled “Ultrasound and Joint Injections”. This comes under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, and under the supervision of Dr. Loay Ajlan – Head of the Department, and organized by the department’s doctors.

The workshop activities lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the following was done:

-Ultrasound and injection of the right shoulder joint for a patient suffering from shoulder tendon impingement syndrome, tendinitis and acromioclavicular joint osteoarthritis.
-Ultrasound and injection of the right shoulder joint for a patient with shoulder stiffness.
-Ultrasound for a patient with rheumatoid arthritis suffering from wrist joint inflammation and the necessary treatment was prescribed.
-Ultrasound of the left shoulder joint for a patient with shoulder stiffness and the joint was injected and a suprascapular nerve block was performed.
-Ultrasound and injection of the left shoulder joint for a patient suffering from shoulder tendonitis.
-Ultrasound and injection for a patient suffering from supraspinatus tendonitis of the right shoulder joint.
-A patient with several disc herniations underwent ultrasound and injection of the spinal nerve root, as well as epidural injection of the spine.
