Under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the Chest Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, organized its first conference “On Chest Diseases and Allergy Treatment Methods” under the supervision of Prof. Shazly Baghdadi – Head of the Chest Department, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Salah – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Prof. Ashraf Maabad – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of university professors.
Othman stated that, as part of educational tourism, the Chest Department held its first conference on Thursday and Friday, December 14-15, 2023, to exchange experiences among specialists in the same specialization from various universities.
Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stated that the Faculty of Medicine is working on arranging medical conferences in various specialties with the goal of exchanging experiences between young doctors and professionals in the chest specialty, as well as learning about contemporary treatment procedures. The conference, titled “Belmo Aswan, the first edition,” lasted two days and featured a variety of seminars with the involvement of clinical department heads and a large number of doctors from various specializations and governorates.
Baghdadi, head of the Chest Department at the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital, stated that the conference addressed chest allergies and their impact on various organs in the body such as the kidneys, liver, heart, neurological and rheumatic patients, as well as pregnant women and children. The two workshops also included training on the use of echo and chest ultrasound, with the participation of a group of specialists, professors from Egyptian universities, and workers in the Chest Department at Aswan University Hospital.
