Aswan Medicine Participation in the Fourth Annual Conference of the Urology Department At South Valley In Hurghada

Today, Saturday, March 9, 2024, the activities of the fourth annual conference of the Department of Urology of South Valley University Medicine, which was held in Hurghada, were concluded under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Al-Akkawi, President of South Valley University, and Prof. Ahmed Hashem, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, South Valley University, Prof. Gamal Abdel Hamid, Head of the Department of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine in Qena, Dr. Omar Al-Saghir, and Dr. Atef Fathi, Secretaries of the Conference, in the presence of a group of professors from Egyptian universities in the same specialty, led by Prof. Mohamed Shalabi, Professor of Urology. Assiut University Medicine, Dr. Ali Mahran, Deputy of the Health Committee of the Shura Council, Prof.Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Hussein, Deputy of the Faculty of Medicine and Head of the Department of Urology at Aswan University, and a group of Egyptian university professors. 

According to Al-Akkawi, President of South Valley University, the conference gave various key ideas to improve the educational and medical procedures for urology specialties. South Valley University’s administration is aiming to build and organize numerous scientific and medical conferences to improve the university’s educational, medical, and research systems, which will boost hospital medical services.

The President of South Valley University also thanked and appreciated the Department of Urology, the Faculty of Medicine, and those in charge of organizing the conference, including academic staff, their assistants, and conference participants, and expressed his satisfaction with the conference’s success.

“Hashim,” Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at South Valley University, added that one of the conference’s most important recommendations is to hold the conference in the year 2024/2025, to use modern methods in treating kidney stones in children, such as flexible ureter views and nephroscopes, and to apply modern treatment methods in the treatment of male diseases and sexual dysfunction, such as penis implants, as well as treating men who have delayed childbirth.

Abdul Hamid, Head of the Department of Urology at Qena Medicine, stated that the conference activities finished on Saturday, which was received with success and large attendance of university academics from urology departments. The conference is held to discuss new and important axes in the treatment of urinary tract tumors, as well as the urinary tract of children and its modern treatments by using telescopes, lasers, lithotripsies, flexible ureteroscopes, and nephroscopes for both children and adults.

Al-Sagheer, the conference secretary, explained that one of the important recommendations made by the conference was the use of a surgical microscope to treat cases of varicocele and azoospermia in men.

Fathi, the secretary of the conference, stated that among the recommendations was the use of laparoscopy in treating urinary tract tumors. The conference was also able to train young doctors to use these modern techniques while holding a workshop to teach young doctors how to write scientific research, which was the goal of the conference and which was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Shuqair to exchange experiences.

Al-Sagheer, the conference secretary, explained that one of the important recommendations made by the conference was the use of a surgical microscope to treat cases of varicocele and azoospermia in men.

Fathi, the secretary of the conference, stated that among the recommendations was the use of laparoscopy in treating urinary tract tumors. The conference was also able to train young doctors to apply these current approaches, as well as host workshop to teach young doctors how to write scientific research, which was the conference’s purpose and was provided by Dr. Ahmed Shuqair to exchange experiences.
