On Wednesday corresponding to March 26, 2024, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan University President, opened the events of the medical conference that the Pediatrics Department in Aswan Medicine organizes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Hanan Abdel Moneim – Professor of Pediatrics and former Vice President of Aswan University for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud El-Mogy – President of the Conference and President of the Association of Future Pediatricians, and Prof. Bahaa El-Hawary – Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Aswan Medicine, in the presence of Prof. Ali Dandrawy – former Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Ashraf Mabed – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, under the name of:
”What’s New in Subspecialties in Pediatrics”
The conference started with words from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem. Prof. Ayman Othman, President of Aswan University, welcomed the attendees, wished them happy accommodation in Aswan Governorate, and emphasized the importance of holding and organizing medical and scientific conferences in Aswan Governorate, considered a global hub, as well as encouraging educational tourism and working to transfer scientific, research, and medical skills to future doctors. He, also explained that these medical and scientific conferences are considered among the classification criteria that Aswan University obtained globally at the level of Egyptian and global universities during the last period.
”Ma’bad” The Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, pointed out that the pediatric conference in its sixth edition, which is being held during the period from March 6th–9th, 2024, in one of the major hotels in Aswan, hosts an elite group of pediatric professors from Egyptian, Arab, and African universities and the United States of America. It is also held in cooperation and coordination between the Future Paediatricians Association and the Department of Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University. He also indicated the role of Prof.Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, who does his best to support all departments in the faculty.
Salah, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, emphasized the importance of holding scientific conferences that refine the skills of pediatricians at Aswan University Hospital, which has seen remarkable development through providing medical doctors, equipping the department with the latest medical devices, and working on increasing the number of nurseries to service Aswan citizens and patients of South Upper Egypt.
In his turn, ”Al-Hawari” Head of the Pediatric Department at Aswan University Medicine explained that the conference aims to develop doctors’ skills scientifically and clinically by transferring experiences to young doctors in the same major, working to prepare and provide them with medical expertise, while providing full opportunity for practical training in workshops within the conference to train on the latest medical findings in all subspecialties in pediatrics in the world in cooperation with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
