Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of Aswan University, stated that within the framework of the treatment and health system and the medical efforts made by Aswan University hospitals, which are witnessing a remarkable development as working to increase the number of beds and the quality of the medical service, in order to improve the health system in Aswan, and given the political leadership’s interest in the health of The Aswan citizen and the interest of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in university hospitals, and in order to serve the patients of Aswan Governorate and the patients of the southern Upper Egypt governorates, and accordingly; The University Hospital performed 5,658 various surgeries, in the departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics, during the period from January to August of the current year 2022 , and about 168 cases of major surgeries with specialized skill, according to the statistics of the Technology and Information Center for the number of cases that During this period, she entered the University Hospital in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics at the University Hospital.
Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, added that there are a number of hospitals and specialized centers that will enter service soon after the completion of the medical equipment work. Among the cases where the language of numbers does not always lie, the University Hospital has achieved record numbers, which may be the first in its history in terms of providing medical service to patients in Aswan Governorate and the governorates of southern Upper Egypt.
Al-Dahshoury pointed out that the University Hospital, through the Operations Unit, performed 5,658 various surgical operations, between minor and major, in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics, during the period from January to August for the current year 2022.
His Excellency also stressed that this is one of the fruits of the development witnessed by university hospitals in terms of developing the departments of the university hospital, which include the best medical expertise and human cadres of doctors and consultants from various specialties in various departments.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Maabad – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, indicated that the university hospital does not hesitate to provide health and medical services to patients in light of the possibilities available at the University Hospital in Aswan, appealing to patients and their families not to be drawn into malicious rumors, or to fabricate and practice Some pressures and riots on the university hospital in its various departments, as the hospital is the only place that receives patients with brain and nerve injuries at the governorate level, as well as all cases of accidents in other medical specialties.
Prof. Khaled Ismail – Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, explained that the department works seven days a week around the clock, to receive all cases of brain and nerve injuries, with the speed of dealing with them, whether by surgical intervention or medical follow-up for each case separately, despite the small number of medical staff In the department, as it is a new department and was not previously available at the university in Aswan, as all cases of brain and nerves were transferred to Assiut University before, noting that all the surgical cases conducted in the department have achieved a high success rate.
