Under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab<\/span>, the vice president for graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman<\/span> and the supervision of the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohamed Zaki Dahshoury <\/span>and the vice dean of graduate studies and research and Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein Younes<\/span>, the first day of the training course on scientific writing and scientific publishing was launched on Friday corresponding to 22nd<\/sup> Nov. 2019. The course was organized by the faculty of medicine for the third consecutive time, entitled:<\/span><\/p>\n Scientific writing: From data collection to publishing: Hands-on course<\/span><\/p>\n The course continued till Saturday corresponding to 23rd<\/sup> November. The faculty hosted Prof. Ahmed Shokeir<\/span>, professor of urology, at Mansoura University, and the previous director of Ghoneim Center, who attended the course over the two days.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Ghallab stressed the importance of scientific research for researchers, academic staff, their assistants, and university students. Aswan University pays great attention to scientific research by providing all scientific and research capacities as well as equipping laboratories with modern scientific research methods as a result Aswan University got first place in citation according to THE rankings this year which placed the University in a prominent scientific position among the international ones.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Dahshori added that the faculty of medicine organized more than one training course on the steps and methods of scientific research in order to help the students gain research experiences from professors and research experts from various universities.<\/span><\/p>\n The course included practical exercises through questions and answers and live interaction with the attendees, which included Prof. Abdullah Al-Obaidi<\/span>, general director of Aswan university Hospital, and a selected group of the departments’ chairmen, academic staff, their assistants, researchers, and the faculty students. The training handled also a discussion of the book \u201cHow to write a medical article: Advice from an editor (Second Edition)<\/strong><\/span>\u201d by \u201c Shokeir”.<\/span><\/p>\n This conference was prepared and organized by Dr. Hassan Ali<\/span> – assistant lecturer in the department of urology and venereology, Dr. Saud Salah<\/span>, assistant lecturer in the department of anesthesia and intensive care, Dr. Tariq Hamida – assistant lecturer in the department of anesthesia and intensive care, and Dr. Amr Alam El Din<\/span> – assistant lecturer in the Department of Urology, and Dr. Mohamed Lotfy<\/span> – a doctor in the department of urology.<\/span><\/p>\n In conclusion, Prof. Ghellab, Prof. Dahshoury, and Dr. Yunus, vice dean of graduate studies and research, granted the Faculty Shield to Dr. \u201cShokeir\u201d for his ongoing efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n
