Under the patronage of Prof.Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat,<\/span> President of Aswan University; Prof Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ashraf Maabad,<\/span> Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals; and Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb,<\/span> Director of the Internal Medicine Hospital and under the supervision of Prof. Awni Ali Abdel Rahman,<\/span> Head of the Gastroenterology Department, and Prof. Ehab Fawzy Abdo Mostafa<\/span>, Professor of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University.<\/span><\/p>\n The Department of Tropical Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology at Aswan University Hospitals organized an advanced workshop on \u201cGastrointestinal Endoscopy\u201d<\/span> on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The workshop was held as part of the activities of the department\u2019s 8th Annual Conference, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 26\u201327.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Held at Aswan University Hospitals, the workshop aimed to provide hands-on training and facilitate the transfer of expertise to young physicians. A total of five advanced endoscopic procedures were performed, including two upper gastrointestinal endoscopies for the management and follow-up of esophageal varices.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Additionally, three biliary endoscopy procedures were conducted, including two cases of bile duct obstruction and one case involving stent removal.<\/span> –Prof. Dr. Mohamed Amer Afifi \u2013<\/span> Professor of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Al-Azhar University.<\/span> The guests were welcomed by Prof. Ashraf Maabad<\/span>, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals; Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb,<\/span> Director of the Internal Medicine Hospital; and Dr. Mohamed Saeed,<\/span> Administrative Supervisor of the Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University.<\/span><\/p>\n This comes as part of Aswan University Hospitals\u2019 ongoing commitment to supporting practical training, enhancing physicians\u2019 skills, and delivering high-quality medical services to patients.<\/span><\/p>\n
