Aswan University has announced the opening of the \u201cSafe Woman Clinic\u201d <\/span>at the Faculty of Medicine, as part of its efforts to enhance the services provided by the university hospitals for women and to offer integrated and comprehensive care for Egyptian and Sudanese women within Aswan Governorate and the border areas.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nusrat,<\/span> President of Aswan University; Dr. Essam El-Adawy, <\/span>Member of the National Council for Women; Mr. Yves Sancerat,<\/span> Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA); Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals; Prof. Ashraf Maabad,<\/span> Director of the Surgery Hospital; Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb<\/span>, Director of the Specialized Internal Medicine Hospital; Ms. Sally Zahabi,<\/span> Head of Programs to Combat Violence Against Women at UNFPA; Dr. Amal Philip,<\/span> Health Advisor to the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at the National Council for Women; Ms. Nadine Amin,<\/span> from the same unit; in addition to a number of academic leaders and faculty members.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Prof. Louai Nusrat <\/span>affirmed that the opening of the clinic comes within the framework of the university\u2019s community role and in light of the political leadership\u2019s focus on women and its efforts to empower them across various fields. He explained that the clinic aims to provide a safe environment and comprehensive care that preserves women\u2019s dignity, supports their rights, and strengthens Aswan University\u2019s position as a regional center for serving women, particularly Sudanese women.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dr. Essam El-Adawy,<\/span> Member of the National Council for Women, added that this step represents a national model to be emulated. He emphasized that establishing the Safe Woman Clinic within the Faculty of Medicine enhances the protection system and ensures the provision of specialized and sustainable services to combat all forms of violence against women.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ” Sancerat”<\/span> Representative of UNFPA, expressed the Fund\u2019s appreciation for the partnership with Aswan University. He noted that the clinic is not merely a medical facility, but a comprehensive support center providing health, psychological, and social services to women and girls in Aswan and surrounding areas, particularly Sudanese women, in light of the challenges resulting from the current situation in Sudan.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ” El-Dashoury”<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stated that the clinic represents a significant addition to the faculty and university hospitals.
