The three-day initiative was held under the auspices of Aswan University and its Faculty of Medicine, led by <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty, in collaboration with the National Council for Women and the United Nations Population Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">The activity was attended by <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Dr. Amal Philip,<\/span> Health Advisor for Combating Violence Against Women; <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Ashraf Maabad<\/span>, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Surgery Hospital; <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Hala Al-Abidi<\/span>, Head of the Department of General Medicine; along with a number of university professors, young physicians, and representatives from various segments of society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">His Excellency affirmed that Aswan University is admitting its doors to international students from across African countries-particularly Sudan-in the Faculties of Medicine and other disciplines, in line with the directives of the political leadership to support and empower women at all levels. During the occasion, he also announced the upcoming establishment of a unit to combat violence against women at Aswan University Hospitals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">In turn,<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> Dr. Aml Philip,<\/span> &nbsp;the health advisor for combating violence against women, explained that the health sector\u2019s support for women survivors of violence is a pivotal step towards empowering women and ensuring their psychological and physical safety, stressing the importance of training medical personnel on methods of dealing with these cases with sensitivity and extreme professionalism, as the number of units for combating violence against women at the level of the Republic in cooperation with Egyptian universities has reached approximately<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> (37)<\/span> units to provide health care to women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cMa\u2019bad,\u201d<\/span> the faculty\u2019s vice dean for community service and environmental development affairs, pointed out that Aswan University Hospitals will play a vital role in receiving and treating various cases of victims of violence, and providing them with a safe environment and comprehensive services, within a comprehensive medical and humanitarian vision. We should not overlook the pioneering role played by Aswan University Hospitals and the Faculty of Medicine, under the leadership of<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> \u201cAl-Dahshouri,\u201d<\/span> the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, in serving Sudanese patients by providing treatment and training for medical students in the university hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">In this regard, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Al-Obaidi,<\/span> Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, emphasized that the department is fully prepared to cooperate with the newly established unit and to contribute to providing essential medical and psychological support for women affected by violence, whether from Aswan or abroad, especially neighboring countries.
