The Department of General Surgery started its third workshop because it believes that continuing medical education is crucial to ensuring that patients receive high-quality care by updating physicians’ abilities and keeping up with the quick changes in the medical sector. Prof. Ashraf Maabad<\/span>, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Director of the Surgery Hospital, attended the workshop, which was organized under the direction of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy,<\/span> Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals. The title of the workshop was:<\/span><\/p>\n The Use of Laparoscopic Surgery in Treating Various Types of Hernias<\/span><\/p>\n This conference is being held under the supervision of Prof. Mansour Kabbash<\/span>, former President of Aswan University and Scientific Supervisor of the Department of General Surgery, and Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat<\/span>, Head of the Department, and is being organized by Dr. Ayman Mandour<\/span>, Lecturer in the Department of General Surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n The department chairman, Al-Zayat, said that the workshop will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, June 18\u201319, 2025. Two of the most well-known professors of laparoscopic surgery in Egypt will be in the department:<\/span><\/p>\n The president of the Egyptian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery and a professor of laparoscopic surgery at the Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine is Dr. Fahim Al-Basyouni<\/span>.<\/span> He went on to say that by hosting frequent workshops, the department is implementing a number of contemporary technology to help patients and provide new teaching opportunities for aspiring physicians.<\/span><\/p>\n His Excellency clarified that the workshop’s scientific lectures, which will be attended by all of the department’s physicians, will give a thorough explanation of how laparoscopy is used to treat inguinal and abdominal wall hernias. The goal is to impart knowledge to younger medical professionals. Following the lectures, there will be surgical procedures, during which the department’s faculty members will explain the phases of the operation to the deputies and specialists.<\/span><\/p>\n At the conclusion of the first day of the workshop, the department supervisors and workshop organizers presented shields to the honorable guests in recognition of their efforts in traveling to Aswan to present scientific material to the department’s doctors, with the hope that they would enjoy the governorate’s landmarks during their stay.
