On November 30, 2020, Aswan University Council No. 100 was chaired by President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab. The event was attended by Aswan Governor Maj. Gen. Ashraf Ateya, Vice Presidents of Graduate Studies and Research and Community Service and Environmental Development Prof. Ayman Othman and Prof. Magdi Mohamed Ali, as well as faculty deans.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Ghallb opened the session by welcoming Maj. Gen. Ashraf Ateya and thanked him for his continuing support to Aswan University. Prof. Ghallb stressed on the significance of finishing the university\u2019s health project regarding university hospitals. Aswan university hospital, which is considered a vital destination for Aswan and all Upper Egypt\u2019s patients, is witnessing a surge in its departments. The hospital is undergone several constructions as internal medicine and pediatric hospitals which can absorb 150 beds and a dialysis unit. These buildings are 85% finished. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Prof. Ghallb clarified that the university is raising the efficiency of the departments of emergency, urology, internal medicine, reception, and orthopedics. Gas networks, emergency alert system, mechanical works, finishing works are undergone clear development. The central restaurant preparations\u2019 are being completed. The meeting tackled the university\u2019s plan for the educational process\u2019s continuation amid COVID-19 by applying all precautionary measures for the student\u2019s safety. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The council approved the cooperation protocol with the ministry of social solidarity to construct a social solidarity unit in the university. It approved on nomination Prof. Kamal Abu Al Magd, full professor of the geology department, faculty of science for State Appreciation Reward for Basic Sciences 2020. The council approved on creating a mutual professional diploma degree for developing and training Egyptian engineers for the EU-funded project ERAFMUS+.
