Under the patronage of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat<\/span> – Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury<\/span> – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine launched the seventh annual conference, under the supervision of Prof. Ehab Fawzy Abdo – President of the Conference, Prof. Sahar Hassani – Scientific Supervisor of the Department, Dr. Awni Ali Abdel Rahman<\/span> – Secretary of the Conference, and Dr. Mina Tharwat Shukry<\/span> – Conference Rapporteur, and in the presence and honor of Prof. Gamal Esmat – Honorary President of the Conference and former President of the International Liver Federation, Prof.Shehata Gharib<\/span> – Professor of Law and Guest of Honor of the Conference, Prof.  Ashraf Maabad<\/span> – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Rabie<\/span> – Director of the Surgery Hospital at the University Hospital, and a group of academic staff and their assistants, doctors in the department, and dieticians in Aswan Governorate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference was opened with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by \u201cFawzy\u201d,<\/span> the conference president, welcoming the honorable platform and the attendees, noting that from this standpoint, the presence today, Thursday, February 6, 2025, was at the 7th annual conference of the Department of Tropical Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, which brings together an elite group of professors in this field from various Egyptian universities and is scheduled to continue until tomorrow, February 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

His Excellency explained that this year’s conference is part of a continuing medical education policy to combat the increasing spread of infectious diseases, and that it will address everything new in diseases of the digestive system, liver, and fevers, through a detailed explanation of the various diseases that doctors face, as well as treating medical cases using the most recent methods of diagnosis and treatment to achieve the best possible outcome for these cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nasrat,<\/span> Acting President of Aswan University, stated that such scientific, medical, and research conferences benefit the treatment system in all hospitals in Aswan Governorate, and Aswan University Hospitals in particular, as well as promote domestic tourism in the governorate, with the hope that attendees will enjoy the picturesque nature of Aswan Governorate while also benefiting from the conference lectures.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his speech, Al-Dahshouri,<\/span> the Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that the Department of Tropical Medicine and the Digestive System is one of the most important departments that has taken on the concerns of Egyptian patients with Hepatitis C, in light of the political leadership’s interest in the health system and the launch of the initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C, which liver patients used to suffer from, so that this department would be the helping hand that serves patient of Aswan governorate and Upper Egypt governorates . He applauded the department’s commitment to conduct annual scientific conferences in order to benefit and pass knowledge from senior professors to junior doctors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, Fawzy,<\/span> the conference chairman, presented shields to the honorable platform in recognition of their contributions to the department’s scientific and medical advancements, which benefit patients in Aswan Governorate and neighboring governorates.<\/span><\/p>\n
