{"id":20996,"date":"2024-12-13T07:06:18","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T07:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=20996"},"modified":"2024-12-16T08:20:57","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T08:20:57","slug":"for-the-first-time-in-aswan-total-parathyroidectomy-for-chronic-renal-failure","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/med.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/news\/for-the-first-time-in-aswan-total-parathyroidectomy-for-chronic-renal-failure\/","title":{"rendered":"For the first time in Aswan, Swollen Parathyroid Glands were Completely Removed in a Patient with Kidney Failure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 17px;\">Under the auspices of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri<\/span> &#8211; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, the Department of General Surgery at Aswan Faculty of Medicine performed on Thursday, December 12, 2024, under the supervision of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat<\/span> &#8211; Head of the Department, a complete removal of the enlarged parathyroid glands in a patient with kidney failure and re-implantation of a part of the neck muscle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 17px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Al-Zayat,<\/span> the head of the General Surgery Department, stated that this is the first case in Aswan in nearly 6 years, having held the workshop in February 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 17px;\">His Excellency stated that this work is the result of collaboration between the Department of General Internal Medicine, led by <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Prof. Hala Al-Abidi<\/span> &#8211; Head of the Department, and the Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care, directed by <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Dr. Tarek Hamida<\/span> &#8211; Administrative Supervisor of the Department, and <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Dr. Mohamed Saeed<\/span> &#8211; Lecturer of Anesthesia at Aswan Faculty of Medicine.
