In an atmosphere of joy and gladness in one of the restaurants overlooking the Nile, surrounded by the honor and presence Prof. Loauy Saad El-Din Nasrat<\/span> – Acting President of Aswan University, Prof. Mansour Kabbash – Former President of Aswan University and current President of Sphinx University, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury<\/span> – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mohamed Salad El-Din Fahmy<\/span> – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Prof. Essam Abu El-Majd<\/span> – Head of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, the medical convoy for cleft lip concluded its activities with a closing ceremony under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Qanawi<\/span> – Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Aswan Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with the Operation Smile Foundation – Egypt under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed El-Shazly<\/span> – Chairman of the Foundation, as the convoy began its work starting Friday, December 6, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n At the beginning of the ceremony, Nasrat,<\/span> the acting president of the university, welcomed the attending doctors, nurses, and all the volunteers of the convoy, praising the role of the convoy in bringing smiles back to the faces of children and their families from Aswan Governorate as well as neighboring governorates, and announcing the university’s support for these medical and treatment convoys based on its societal role that it provides to citizens through collaboration with civil society institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Al-Dahshouri,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, lauded the medical service role offered by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Aswan Faculty of Medicine, which is led by Qanawi,<\/span> who is always eager to organize such convoys on a regular basis. Thank you to the Smile Work Foundation – Egypt for its annual collaboration in bringing joy to children, and we hope that these convoys will be repeated to aid patients and reduce the strain on their families and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Qanawi,<\/span> Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, the convoy conducted medical examinations on many cases and performed surgical surgeries for children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and congenital deformities. He thanked the administration of the university, college, and university hospital for their assistance with the medical convoy.<\/span><\/p>\n Doctors from the convoy’s departments, including pediatrics, surgery, dentistry, speech, anesthesia, intensive care, and pediatric nutrition, took part in the ceremony, which featured entertainment and singing elements. The ceremony finished with the presentation of shields to the leaders of the university, college, and university hospital in recognition of their effective support for the medical convoy.<\/span><\/p>\n
