<\/span><\/p>\nAswan University Hospitals received His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi<\/span>, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and his accompanying delegation, under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman<\/span>, President of Aswan University, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Hospitals, Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din,<\/span> Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Prof. Ramadan Ghalleb,<\/span> Director of the New Specialized Internal Medicine Hospital, Prof.Mohamed Rabie,<\/span> Director of the Surgery Hospital, and Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim Howaidy,<\/span> Head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Surgery at the University Hospital, in the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Mohamed Abdel Aziz,<\/span> former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Aswan.<\/span><\/p>\n This is the start of the medical eye convoy activities, which will take place over two days on July 2-4, 2024, at the University Hospital headquarters in Aswan.<\/span><\/p>\n “Othman,”<\/span> the university president, received His Highness “Sultan Al Qasimi” and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing his dominion over the depth of Egypt’s historical links with the sister state of the UAE. The activities of this medical treatment convoy are part of a fruitful and constructive collaboration in humanitarian, medical, and community work, and Aswan University welcomes such medical convoys that bring joy and happiness to patients from Aswan Governorate and the governorates of southern Upper Egypt.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Al-Dahshouri,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, explained that the medical convoy activities began on Tuesday, July 2, with medical exams of the cases and preparation for surgical operations on Wednesday. The medical team will treat about (100) patients with ophthalmology and eye diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye diseases. The operations will take place in the university hospital’s Ophthalmology Department.<\/span><\/p>\n As one of the many treatment services offered by Aswan University Hospitals to patients in various areas of the governorate, Ghalleb,<\/span> the director of the new, specialized internal medicine hospital, emphasized the significance of the role that medical convoys serve for patients who are unable to receive treatment due to the difficult living conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rabie,<\/span> the Surgery Hospital’s director, explained that the hospital is prepared to accept eye patients and will use all available resources to ensure the success of the medical convoy’s work. These resources include CT scans for eye patients and comprehensive medical examinations before their admission to the operating rooms, with complimentary testing and treatment provided thanks to the sponsorship of the Emirati side in the medical convoy’s operations. The Emirati group followed up on patients in the ophthalmology department and had a tour of Aswan University Hospital’s departments.<\/span><\/p>\n
