Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman<\/span>, President of Aswan University, stated that the Department of Urology and Genital Surgery at Aswan Medicine participated in the medical convoy to the state of Zanzibar as part of the university’s community and service role in building a bridge of communication and cooperation towards the continent of Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was not the first convoy of its kind, but rather the fourth in several trips to Zanzibar. The convoy’s mission began on Friday, August 25, 2023, and lasted one week, finishing on Friday, September 1. It examined and checked patients for Zanzibar citizens with the help of a medical team that included: Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury<\/span> – Professor of Urology and Urethral Stricture at Aswan Medicine, and Dr. Ahmed Salah<\/span> – Lecturer of Urology at Aswan Medicine, as well as the Universities of Assiut and Sohag, as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Al-Dahshouri<\/span>, Professor of Urology and Urinary Stricture at Aswan Medicine, the work of the medical convoy falls within the framework of Aswan University’s regional and international role towards the African continent’s external community, in line with the declaration of Aswan Governorate as the African continent’s capital of culture, economy, and Arab and African youth.<\/span>
\nAl-Dahshouri further stated that the medical convoy’s work, which lasted a week, resulted in the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

-For (300) cases,  signing a medical examination.<\/span>
\n-Performing procedures on children with urinary tract abnormalities for a total of 55 children.<\/span>
\n-Performing procedures for people with urinary tract abnormalities for (35) patients.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salah<\/span>, a urology teacher at Aswan Medicine, added that this international convoy is the fourth in a row in which Aswan University has participated on a regular basis to the state of Zanzibar, out of their belief in the importance of Aswan University’s role in the African continent, explaining that the convoy checked on patients after the operations. She conducted the procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, the Minister of Health in Zanzibar paid a visit to the Aswan University convoy team and the cooperating medical team and honored them for their efforts during that time.<\/span><\/p>\n
